Chinese Flame Tree

Native to eastern Asia. Slow to moderate growth to 20 – 40 ft. or taller, spreading, and eventually flat topped. This great shade tree is fast-growing and deciduous.  Spire like clusters of small yellow flowers appear in late summer/early fall, followed by its red seed pod (often so colorful it is confused for a flower). This is a tough tree which tolerates our hot climate and a wide range of soils. When well-established, it tolerates wind, air pollution, salt, heat, and is very drought tolerant. Deep rooting tree is non invasive making is a great street tree.  No root problems even when plated close to patios, driveways, or even your house.
