This project is a remarkable example of maximizing the potential of a small backyard. Initially, the back hill sloped down to a planter, making the yard feel cramped. The client envisioned a modern design, but the house was clad in stone, presenting a unique challenge. Our task was to harmonize the classic stone exterior with the client’s contemporary vision.

To create a more spacious yard, we constructed a larger wall at the back of the pool, aligning it with the property setback line. We reduced costs by integrating the wall with the pool, using the pool floor as a footing for the wall. The wall was clad in the same stone as the house, but we added glass tiles and fountains to introduce movement, symmetry, and sound. Modern glass tiles and sand-washed concrete with a cantilevered edge provided a sleek, contemporary touch. This project demonstrates our ability to blend different design genres seamlessly.
