Baja shelf entry into tropical free form rock pool and spa

Sierra Madre Rock Pool Oasis

This project has won several awards from the California Landscape Contractors Association, including Best in State Water-feature, Judges Award for best Design/Build and the Best Large Estate Landscape Award from the LA/San Gabriel Chapter. Projects like this are rarely constructed without great client – contractor relationships. This project started off as a remodel of a pool constructed with artificial stone and a re-landscape of the yard. During the design process the clients decided to demolish the old pool and build a new larger pool in a more prominent location using real rock, constructing a real boulder grotto, and installing new paving stone decks, along with new landscape, lighting, and pergolas.

Hardscape pavers and natural rocks were selected for their aesthetic value, longevity and sturdiness. The variety of paver colors, shapes, and sizes made it easy to find the perfect match to compliment the rocks and boulders used in the pool and grotto. With the ability to expand and contract with different seasons, they will remain the same beautiful color as they resist cracking and fading with temperature changes. Pavers and natural rocks will keep this backyard stunning and functional with little to no maintenance for many years to come.
