Southern Magnolia

Magnolia grandiflora

  • Full Sun or Partial Shade – Evergreen
  • Regular Water

This classic magnolia is common as a street tree throughout southern California, although it may lift paved walks with its surface roots. It’s loved because of its foliage and fragrant flowers; it also offers the reward of heat resistance and tolerance for damp soil. Beware of leaf, flower, and cone litter. Moderate growth rate to a max height of 80 ft. and 60 ft. wide.
