Small Glendora Back Yard

A large hedge provides privacy and serves as an unassuming backdrop, enhancing the overall value by adding mass and scale without clutter, framing the yard, and directing your eye to the point of interest.

The owners envisioned a semi-modern structured backyard to complement the architecture of their semi-modern ranch-style home. The pool, with its rectangular form, harmonizes with the steppers and the small Baja shelf, creating a comfortable and inviting space for lounging and cooling off. The rustic modern pavers present a contrasting relationship with the concrete coping and borders, while the stepping stones surrounded by artificial turf add visual interest.

The tall wall behind the spa discreetly hides the pool equipment. The lines draw your eyes to the movement of the water and the art on the spa wall, while the concrete steppers visually and functionally lead you to the fire pit. When seated at the fire pit, you gain a completely different view of the yard, adding to the dynamic experience.
The comfortable seating and dining areas are conveniently located just off the back of the house, ensuring ease of access and promoting outdoor living. This thoughtful design successfully balances modern elements with the home’s classic style, creating a cohesive, functional, and inviting outdoor space.
